If you believe in Horoscope, I’m sure you might have spent some money on prediction books, holy rings and on astrologers.

My view
Well, I believe in our Indian culture and I also believe that our ancestors had mastered some of these techniques and were successfully able to predict and forecast many things which were helpful for mankind. But am not sure, in present day scenarios, if we could rely on TV publicity stunts of some of the so called gurus. It’s more like marketing for them, than reaching out and helping people.

Present day facts
To my surprise, in Bangalore(and many other places) there are astrologers who charge Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000 per session. And these astrologers have built big apartments and are living luxury life – all thanks to their profession đŸ˜‰

But I would suggest you not to invest anything above Rs. 500 for such things. You’ll get all those predictions in good authentic books.

Small Story
One of my close friend went to a renowned astrologer in Bangalore and they charged her Rs. 20,000 and gave some printout of the prediction and asked her to take some precautionary measures to safe guard her life by purchasing some rings and CDs/DVDs from their own shop – their own shop, because they have got those rings from kashi and these things have been blessed by lord Shiva – and so they charge a premium for it – another Rs. 20,000

She showed that printout to me and with 5 min research I got the same software which that astrologer was using. Asked birth details of my friend, input that info to the software and boom …same results — All for FREE!

I know, by having that software and printout I can’t be an astrologer and I may not accurately explain things in that printout. But my point is, charging Rs. 20,000 is ridiculous. And believe me, there are many people using some kind of similar software and have gained some basic knowledge about astrology and have a successful business built from scratch! – avoid, avoid, avoid.

It’s not like, I don’t believe in astrology. I do believe in it, but not necessarily on every astrologer. It has become so commercialized that finding an honest one can’t be predicted!

Stick with good horoscope books, published by reputed/authentic publications. This way, the publisher pays for the author and the cost is divided among all the purchasers. So you get value for small amount.

One such good Horoscope Book I’ve seen is:
And my friends who are into regular astrology, they told me, this is ‘The Best’ astrology book

About the book
You can look at the horoscope of entire family members and your friends, as it comes with all the sun signs. It also covers about global issues. I also got “2014 Basic Overview report” free with this book, which was pretty interesting to read.

I had ordered this book for one of my close friend, and read it out of curiosity.

Apart from all these, know that, too much of anything is not good. So always believe in yourself more than astrology – don’t get too much into it and don’t depend on it for every other decision you take.

At the end:
You’re the creator of your own destiny.” – Swamy Vivekananda
